CARE AND CLEANING OF EXTERIOR WINDOW FILM


Your windows are protected from vandalism with clear Safety and Security Window Film. Installed on the exterior the film acts as a sacrificial barrier against vandalism. The patented scratch resistant coating on the window film is very durable. With proper care your windows will 100k very clear for many years. After many years of searching we know we use the most clear window film available; Solar Guard Armor Coat.


For best results; clean your windows with a cotton cloth, sponge or window washing wand to loosen the dirt. Then squeegee with a black rubber squeegee. A mild soap works best. Baby shampoo is ideal because it is neutral pH. Mix 3-4 drops per quart or 12-16 drops per gallon. We really like Unger Concentrated Glass Cleaner available at Home Depot and many other stores for around $7, Avoid using any abrasive cleaners or industrial strength glass cleaner. Do not use crumpled newspaper or any colored 3M scratch pads.


Do not wash the film for 30 days after the installation. Visual changes during this time period are a natural part of the bonding process. Depending on the film type, it may take up to 60 days for the film to fully cure. Small water spots will diminish and eventually disappear.


To remove painted murals or Scotch Tape, use WD40. Get the film wet and wait for the WD40 to work or use a 3M white scrub pad, warm water and soap and gentle scrubbing. Graffiti paint can be removed With almost any paint remover. Use a citrus based product first, and if necessary, use increasingly strong solvent based products.
